FAQs

  1. When and where do I pay my rent?
    1. The rent is automatically withdrawn from your account on the first day of each month. If the rent. If the rent bounces, your rent must be paid in cash at the Bevan Enterprises office at 26 Walker Drive, or the Quality Inn and Suites at 150 Euston Street. The Quality Inn and Suites is open 24 hours a day. There will be a $30NSF charge for any rent that has bounced.
  2. How much is the security deposit for apartment rentals?
    1. Security deposit amounts vary from property to property. We require a minimum of half a month’s rent on some apartments to the equivalent of a full month’s rent on others.
  3. Are pets allowed?
    1. Pets are allowed at certain properties. Please check with our office staff to determine which properties are pet friendly.
  4. Is a lease required to rent a furnished apartment?
    1. Yes, we require a minimum 6 month lease. Shorter terms can be negotiated.
  5. What if I cannot complete the term of my lease?
    1. The lease is a legally binding document; therefore, you are liable to pay the rent until the unit rents to suitable new tenants.
  6. How much notice is required to vacate my apartment?
    1. While you are in a 1 year lease, your notice must be given in writing 60 days prior to your leaving, on our before the first day of the month, to vacate the end of the second month. Without this notification rent will be charged in full. For example, if a lease was started from January 1st, 2022 until December 31, 2022 we would need the notice to vacate on or before November 1, 2022 in order to vacate on December 31, 2022.
    2. On a month-to-month term, written notice must be given on or before the first of the month you plan to vacate. Tenants and all possessions must vacate on or before the last day of the month. All keys assigned at move in must be returned by the last day of the month.
  7. When do I get my security deposit back?
    1. Your security deposit will be mailed to the forwarding address given to our office within 10 days of you returning your keys.
  8. Do you do a walk through with me as I leave the apartment?
    1. No. due to month end time constraints it is not feasible, however, if the keys are returned a few days early we will make every possible effort.
  9. How much do you charge to clean the fridge and stove if I have not cleaned it well enough?
    1. The charge is $75.00 for both.
  10. How much do your cleaners cost per hour if extra cleaning is needed?
    1. The hourly rate is $25.00
  11. How much does it cost if 2 men and a truck are required to remove garbage left behind?
    1. The hourly rate is $75.00
  12. What do I do with my garbage?
    1. Waste must be sorted according to Island Waste Watch regulations. For more information visit: www.iwmc.pe.ca Non-compliance with the sorting regulations can lead to fines and/or eviction.
